What is Deai?
Deai is a text-to-sample plugin (VST3 and AU) for macOS. You type a prompt such as "melancholic piano phrase" and it generates an audio sample you can drag directly into your DAW as a WAV file.
Does Deai work offline?
Yes. Audio generation runs entirely on your Mac, without uploading your audio. An internet connection is required to activate a purchased license; generation then works offline.
Which DAWs are supported?
Deai includes VST3 and Audio Unit (AU) plugins for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later. Use VST3 in Ableton Live or FL Studio, and AU in Logic Pro or GarageBand. We have tested Deai in Ableton Live; testing in Logic Pro and FL Studio is still pending. Windows and Intel Macs are not supported. Can I use the generated samples commercially?
Yes. You may use generated samples in music you sell, stream, or distribute, provided you respect third-party rights. Deai does not require credits or a share of your music revenue. Google claims no rights in the generated outputs. Exclusivity, copyright protection, and non-infringement are not guaranteed.
